We're back - and it's going to be beautiful
Last month's show was an absolute blinder! It was our first non-socially distanced get together and it was an absolute party. Teenage Waitress, Raygo Bloom and Owen Hackett were all truly incredible.
We're trying something new for our October show - moving to a Friday night. We're back at The Stage Door (we really like it there) but you guys told us Sunday evenings weren't doing it
for you and we listened.
We're still bringing you three incredible musical performances by artists you may or may not have heard of. Two of this month's trinity made their names fronting successful bands before either going solo or branching off into side-project territory so you may recognise some faces and voices even if the names are new.
Never ones to bow to convention, just because we're moving to a Friday don't expect party vibes - this show is going to be low-key, chilled and absolutely freaking beautiful. However, the venue is open until late so once we've all had our hearts wrenched and had a good cry maybe we'll put on some bangers and welcome in the weekend in style.
A neoclassical pianist, downtempo composer and singer-songwriter, Alexander Carson began his music career as lead singer and songwriter of the band Wooden Arms. Alexander will be travelling from his native Norfolk to play an intimate solo set of original songs and beautiful instrumental pieces.
Better known as frontman of indie favourites Banfi, multi-instrumentalist Joe Banfi has a well-earned reputation as a first-class songwriter. His new solo project Praers sees him trading in catchy pop melodies and spiky guitars to explore new sonic territories. Early singles Arterial Gold and Midday Moon are awash with epic synths and glitchy poetic vocals; snippets of the live versions on his Instagram hint that these first Praers shows are going to be something very special.
Acoustic Magazine’s “Next Big Thing” Dan Bettridge incorporates elements of pretty much every genre you can imagine to create the backdrop for his unique soulful vocals. Lyrically Dan takes a deep dive into subjects such as love, politics, freedom and the complexity of the human condition. He’ll be playing a solo set drawing from right across his back catalogue including tracks from his latest EP “Good People. Bad Habits.”
Over the coming weeks this place will turn into a thriving hub of all things live music related. We're already working hard to curate the most interesting and eclectic line-ups for our monthly get-togethers and have some really exciting things already booked. In the run-up to each show we'll give you the chance to get to know each of our guests; listen to their music; see their videos and; interact with them on social media.
Oh yeah, and you should definitely hit the "Join the Club" link (above) to make sure you're the first to know all the most exciting news, get first dibs on tickets and sweep up all the freebies and special offers that'll be coming your way.
Thanks again for paying us a visit.
See you on 22ndOctober!
